Club info
In
1999, a couple of guys wanted to be a part of an organization that teaches
and helps members learn various methods of catching local species of fish,
so they got together and formed the Stono River Fishing Club.
Each year the club sponsors three or four tournaments. There is a small
entry fee for adults, which is divided for the 1st and 2nd place winners.
Children fifteen and under pay no entry, and have the chance to with
either a fishing rod or a tackle box to keep youth excited about fishing
since they are the future of Lowcountry fishing.
We hold a club supper after one of our tournaments. Our Christmas party
offers great food, family fun, and great door prizes! Both of these meals
are included in your membership dues.
If you live out of town or do not have a boat, the club makes every
effort to get you on the water and fishing.
Upon becoming a member, you will have full access to our website. You
will also receive two decals for your vehicle or boat so that you can be
identified by the membership, along with a quarterly newsletter.
The club encourages safety and as such, to fish in any club-sponsored tournament, your boat must be in good working order.
We are a family-oriented club that encourages involvement from novice
to well-seasoned fishermen. The camaraderie you receive from fellow
members is well worth the membership. We promote the future of fishing in
the Lowcountry with education, family involvement, and good old-fashioned
fun!
