I fished Friday & Saturday near low tide in the flats and caught quite a few redfish on Gulp! jerk shads fished real slow in the schools. The fish were not too lethargic...moving about and spooking like normal on Thursday despite the 41.3 degree water. G8rnsc & I fished together Thursday. On Friday, jighead caught 5 fish on a gold spoon while we fished, and the water warmed up to about 46 degrees. On Thursday, I had a 26" fish, a 27" on Friday and g8rnsc and I fished yesterday (1/19) and caught a number of fish on the falling tide. I had a 27.5" red yesterday...and the fish wanted both finger mullet and mud minnows. yesterday the water got as high as 51 degrees after strting off at 46. good to be back on the water...and with a warming trend. Not one trout seen or caught. I hope the cold did not get too many. I have not seen a single dead fish after 4 trips out during/after the cold.
