Sunday

Are any of you guys gonna play bumper boats at Cherry Grove on Sunday? If so, say hey if you see the fat kid on the green hewes LT.

Kevin

If I can get a “Kitchen Pass” I’m coming later. Last week all I boated was one 2 pound blue and crabs. I was working (Heating and Cooling Contractor) at a house on 59th Channel last week and it looked like Follow The Leader, I saw about 8 boats in one area all dragging bait.

We were down last week and the creek was packed! I couldn’t beleive how many boats were back there!

Yeah, it was like bumper boats yesterday. But I managed a nice mess of fresh flounder. Brought 2 home and let 3 keepers go along with about 10 undersized fish. I lost the only redfish I hooked up with right at the boat yesterday in the backwater, and I didn’t see a trout, which is fine cause I’m letting all of them I catch go until they recover from the kill off from last winter. Im trying to please the fish Gods so they will give us a couple of nice doormats for the catch 2 tourney! If you’re catching crabs and blues, MOVE!!! If I pick up a crab, other than on a slack tide, I move immediately, same with bluefish. The dang blues can go through your baitwell in just a little bit if they are thick. It seems like if you stay in that area, you will end up losing a lot of bait, and sometimes, quality bait is real valuable when flounder fishing. By the way, I caught the 2 biggest fish, both 21", on 3" pinfish yesterday, and I didn’t catch anything on mud minnows at hog island. Only on linesiders. Hope this helps some of you guys catch more fish. Has anyone found bait sized live shrimp in the back creeks yet?

I was working at a house on 46th Ave yesterday and counted 17 boats in one area. I stopped and watched a couple of times for a few minutes and never saw anyone catch a Pish. I stayed in the ICW late Sunday and didn’t bote anything (using Gulp).

As much as I love Cherry Grove this time of year, all the yahoos are about to make me quit going there. I hear the flatties are picking up on the waterway now. I love gulp too, Catmandoo, but I really like eating flounder, so I haven’t put any on since schoolie reds started breaking up. But, it shouldn’t be long before it’s time to float the grass lines for flatties and trouts. Seems like this year is flying by.
