Hit the water this morning a little before 8 to fish the falling tide.
Target today was flounder, so target water was creek mouths, points, edges of oyster bars and drop offs; all the typical flounder ambush points.
Bait selection of the day was to throw a little variety and see what wroked well. With that in mind I tied on a Z-Man 3/0 trigger hook. The weighted trigger hook lets me work baits right on the bottom whether I’m fishing a Rain Minnow, Ultrashrimp, or a mud minnow.
Left the launch paddling / drifting with the falling tide and had the first flounder in the yak in less than 5 minutes. I got it on the measuring board where it went a tad under 20 inches. It was a little shy, and freaked out when the camera came out, so no pic. 1st fish mud minnow.
Next up the ultrashrimp. I hit the next point and there was another flattie. 14 inches, not as shy. That’s 2 in the yak in under 10 minutes.
Drifted down to a creek mouth and tossed the ultrashrimp again. Boom lower slot red.
Cast to the same spot again, another lower slot red.
Cast to the same spot a third time… thump… little flounder at 14 inches.
I headed a little further downstream to a nice oyster covered point and switched to a Rain Minnow. I kept it rigged on the trigger hook and slowly rolled it off the oyster bar. Several casts to the bar with no hits had me wondering if I had a good color choice. A few more casts and thump… little flounder at 14 inches. Several more casts to that bar with no results.
I drifted to the next creek casting to the grass edge as I drifted down. There is a nice submerged log that normally holds fish on a falling tide, so I laid a
Nice Report…thanks…Good bit of flounder being caught right now…I hit Beresford at safe light this morning and caught about 7 reds…Water was slick…no wind…Very nice this a.m.

Kut,
I can’t make it THAT easy. I gave bait, time, tide, tactics, and technique. The only other thing I could do is deliver filets right to the interweb fisherman’s door.
How you like those shoes, columbia drain? Im done with Sperrys, I guess my feet are different but mine just aren’t comfortable when they get wet, rubbed a hole on back of my foot Sunday.

Check out Lands End and LL Bean. I have bought “river” shoes from both of them and love them. They both have great return polices and you can return Lands End stuff to any Sears.
TooBusy did I see you out there monday, Right after you left the landing? You commented on how nice it was having the #*%&$^ to ourselves? I was in the jon boat, it was early, before said yahoo’s tore up the place. I’m pretty sure every boat was dragging a tube and tossing a huge wall of water by 11am.
I too found the small flatties, along that grass further south after I left.
