Lake Murray Dam Landing - Fish guts!

Hi guys! I am a newbie on the forum, well, rather returning after spending a decade in North TX, but I digress … Wouldn’t you love to be DNR officer and catch the dadgum No Count SOB’s that trashed all three of the boat ramps at the dam last nite (or whenever)!

Its just nasty as heck and just really pisses me off that someone would do something like that! Fish skeletons and skins everywhere in the water on the ramp, just NASTY. Dangit!

Sure would they were prob illegal with to many fish to have them cleaned and dump them in the water

What exactly would be the charge from DNR?

Were they on land, or just washed up to the shore and ramp? Maybe someone dumped their remains in the open water to feed turtles and the wind blew them up to the ramp.

Now if they were on the land or road I guess that would be littering?

Dont quote me on this but I am pretty sure it illegal to dump carcasses into the water. So whether it was done out in the lake or at the ramp I think they are still in the wrong; both ethically and legally.

Maybe a real atractive funk too at the end of the day…good for the ants also I imagine. Pure disregard for fellow boaters.

Last time I was on the lake I kept seeing cat fish that were huge with a small filet cut off there back and tossed back in, really wasteful.

I’m not condoning it but I would guess it was someone cleaning their catch on the boat at the ramp and tossing the carcasses. I’ve often wondered why there are no fish cleaning facilities at the SCE&G ramps like the one at Dreher Island Park.
