Saturday Report

I didn’t fish last weekend due to taking my band to the Carowinds Music Festival. The kids did well and we were justly rewarded. Anyway, yesterday I had my lovely better half Jennifer with me. We had a terrific day of catching!

We headed to a favorite mid-lake creek around 9:30 after sleeping late and the bite was pretty much non-stop pulling the usual spread of 2 planers off each side, a cork rod, and transom rod. Though we caught a few in the shallows, the fish seemed to favor 20-30 feet of water. All total, we caught over 40 fish with 25+ keepers. The highlight was a 15 pounder that we we released! There were lots of 7-10’s in the mix. We only kept 5 and enjoyed some bacon wraps and fried nuggets tonight.

A good weekend!

Sounds like a fun day. Seems like you do your best catching whenever Jennifer is there.
I also did pretty well Saturday morning. I took 5 rods rigged for green fish fishing and caught atleast 1 keeper on every rod. Best fish was just over 6 lbs. The bite wasn’t as good as the week before, but I still had a limit that would make most guys proud! I have a tournament on Murray in a few weeks and hope the pattern I’ve found doesn’t change. Then again, I’m the co-angler, so I might not even get to fish these spots at all.
Of course, I’m strictly a catch and release bass fisherman. So if I don’t get to fish for these bass in the tournament, somebody else will have a chance to catch them.

Good report. I’m still waiting for the day that I can get 40 plus fish in a day.
