Surf fishing at Folly

hey guys I plan to head out to the 1600 block (around the turn around by the old coast guard base)of Folly today around 5/6 headed out with shrimp mabe squid, mabe crab??? Just seeing what the opinions are as i have never surf fished before and want to try somthing new. Trying to get a idea of what will hit if anything plan to stay until dark also. I would really like to hook up on some Reds i dont know if that possiable in that area but any advise is welcome.

Use shrimp, you’ll catch whiting, bluefish, maybe some drum

Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.

Live, fresh, frozen?

Stop by Crosby’s, fresh shrimp is best. Frozen’s good, too.

thanks for the help.

Bring some different weight pyramid sinkers, depending on current, 3oz should be fine. Cast right behind breakers.

went out got there around 5 strong on shore wind and a incoming tide, current was pulling me hard to the light house 3oz wouldnt keep me still, went down around the point got out of the wind. Catch was 3 sting ray, and a small croaker. Live shrimp was the bait of choice

Pretty good fishing there I caught a 35 and a 38 incher by the rock groin last fall

yea hi think the weather wasnt so great for us and mabe fishing a incoming tide isnt great?

just wait ,the water is way to hot, should pick up when the water cools and the mullet run starts
