Lake Murray Update

For all the seasoned guys, I haven’t put the boat in now for over 2 weeks which feels awfully weird, but I am still intrigued in the fact that USGS still reports the dissolved oxygen is the about the same at the top and bottom and also the water temperature is a roughly the same on top and bottom. Is this turnover in a stale period? Talked with a couple buddies and they said the fishing is kinda weird right now. Anybody been out lately?

I have heard the same

Fishing was pretty good last Saturday. A lot of stripers caught from the gap up to #4. We caught them on both shad/herring from Neds. We stayed around 20 to 30 fow. Unweighted lines.

When the DO is the same that means the turnover is done with. The water is the same tip to bottom. You won’t start seeing differences again until the lake starts to stratify in the early summer. Most of the fish have migrated uplake if that helps.

Big Hollow was full of small schooling fish in the wind/rain last Wed.
