Stick It anchor pins lanyard or transom bracket?

I have a 16’ lightweight creek boat and I’m looking to purchase a Stick It anchor pin system. Should I just go with the basic lanyard to attach the anchor pin to a cleat, or spend the $50+ more and buy the universal bracket to attach to the transom. Obviously lots of current in the creeks! All opinions welcome.

I have a transom mount aluminum holder I would sell for $75
This but its a 7"

Seems to me, that unless you use two Stick-its on the transome, the boat is going to spin and the stern will be up-current and stress the anchor pin. One Stick-it on a lanyard lets the bow stay up-current. I use a Stick-it on my 22 foot GW on a lanyard, it holds just fine. Plus, I get to push it as deep as I need…depth not limited by a stern bracket.

I have an 18ft jon boat & use one stick it with a layard off my front cleat. Holds just fine.

Go with the lanyard gives you a lot more options. You can manage and position your boat a little better by tying off on different spots of you boat.

A while back i dropped mine and couldn’t find it. Following weekend fishing same spot. Boat trolling bye hung my stick it. They gave it back to me. I had used it for shrimp baiting and had my sticker on it.

They had just seen me catch a nice flounder right before they hung much stick it.
Jokingly I offered them the flounder as a reward. D#ππ.
THEY TOOK ME UP ON IT.
I gave them the fish.

I made my own “stick-it” pins out of 1/2 fiberglass rods and use lanyards. To me, it allows a little movement and is easier to establish your position. I have long ones for my boat and short ones for our kayaks.

Gosh, thanks for all the ■■■■■■■■, and the consensus is that clearly the lanyards are the way to go. Thanks for saving me $50+, and Off the Chain, I wish I could give you a big flounder to replace the one you had to give up as a bounty!

What size/length are you guys using? I like the idea of the 10’ two piece for storage purposes but not sure how well it will hold up at the connection point.

10’, one piece. Not sure how reliable a 2-piece unit would be long term
