Yep, Still Here

Been a while since I’ve posted…or fished really. 2020 has been a bit crazy, to say the least.

Went on a scouting trip Friday afternoon. Found a decent spot up from a point with a pocket and shallow run out. Looked REALLL fishy. Fresh Shrimp produced a bunch of Whiting, that became nice chunks for the weekend.

Short story…Lots of decent Whiting on shrimp. Soaked chunk bait far and close all weekend. No surprise, Sharpnose and Rays, although fun to catch sometimes not what I was looking for. Only “Nice” catch was a Pompano, in October?

Sounds like a fun scouting trip.

October Is when we get big pompano or at least at folly. The reds have been biting at folly, biggest I’ve seen hit the pier or sand is 44-45 and a guy said he got a 46. Slow but steady reports from people who put some time in. A lot of small reds in the surf by structure. My biggest so far is 32 off he beach but lost a few that felt bigger. At least you didn’t get skunked.

Any bait,tide,wind recommendation ?
