Stono Reds and the shifting winds

Went out yesterday in the kayak to a creek i found that turns into a pond and traps redfish in it most low tides. As i drug the kayak over the bank to begin fishing i must’ve spooked a 27-30 inch Redfish. It scared the hell out of me but i paddled farther back and found a few reds chasing bait. After catching the one pictured and another smaller one under a cork, i swapped to a DOA shrimp and had another red hit but lost it before i got it to the kayak. I didn’t want to wear out the fish that i had found because i mean what an amazing spot to find! As im sure you all know it was very windy yesterday and because of the direction of the wind i was protected while paddling to my spot. On the way back to the ramp the wind had shifted kicking up some good rollers right in my path to the launch. If you imagine the movie “The Perfect Storm” thats what it was like paddling back. i enjoy driving boats in big waves so it was kind of on the same scale so i had a blast! I made it to the ramp safe but soaked. All in all a great and cold day!
