Well this may be the best trip with fishing artificial so far, 90% of time I use live or cut baits. Put in this AM at dead low tide & by the time I got to my area the water still wasn’t moving any. After about 30 min it started good & then the Dolphins came out to play for a while, one actually jumped out of the water chasing some large bait fish. There were 2 upper slot Reds cruising right up against the bank in the oysters, took me a few
but I figured out they were probably after crabs. I never could get a cast too them before they moved on but I saw them 5 or so times. About an hour in is when I finally saw some action. I cast up to the bank & crabs were trying to eat my Zman, a little farther off the back they stopped & that’s where the fish were at. My first bite was good but I was not expecting it &
missed him (I was thinking about my sandwich in the cooler). Next was a small trout, then a small red, I lost 2 more trout at the boat so then I got the net. I got 2 more trout in the boat & one was 18" or so but I let him go back. Missed 3 or so more, all this took place in an 1.5 hr or so then nothing. Not sure if they just stopped or if all the boat traffic that picked up put a stop to the bite with all the wakes washing over the bank. I only got one pic, I took a lot more but they did not take. With this new phone I have you have to apparently hold the button till it clicks & there is also a few second delay. I took 15 or so pics of the dolphins but only 3 came thru & only one actually had the dolphin in it due to the delay.
