weekend report

We haven’t had a chance to go out fishing since the end of July. This weekend my wife and I got to be out both days in the early morning. Saturday was hitting spots around the N. Edisto. Tide was flowing in and we found the reds, trout and even flounder all hanging out near some oyster beds and grass edges. Seems like they were extremely hungry, hitting almost everything we put in front of them; minnows, grubs and especially live shrimp. We were busy from the time we started until about two hours in to the incoming tide, then it all stopped! Only problem was that everything was undersized. We couldn’t keep anything!
Sunday morning we again caught the incoming tide but this time we were hitting spots along the Wadmalaw River back towards Younge’s Island. And again, they were hungry. Flounder, trout, croaker, sting rays and even a gar. We did manage to keep a few of the trout since they were just the right size. Too busy catching to take any photos/videos.
Water temps 86-88
incoming tide
live shrimp, minnows, cut mullet, bottom rig or under a float, paddle tail electric chicken with 1/4 oz red head jig

That sounds like a great couple of days on the water. Hate so many were under sized, I typically have that same problem. I love to eat fish but I love just catching them even more.
