Fishing Bonanza

Took a buddy from the firehouse out for a day of fishing at the 60. Started the morning by getting bait and found an absolute frenzy going on with tarpon destroying bait balls. Took some casts and lost my new Shimano Orca popper to a 4 foot shark at the boat. Got our bait and made our way to the 60. Bite was very odd and slow. Ended up with a gag grouper and a nice red. Decided to head back to the jetties for some bull red action. Hit one of my spots, got bait in the water and it was game on. Couldn’t keep the baits in the water longer than a few minutes. Boated 8 or 9 bulls within 25 min and several other sharks with a very large spinner that put on quite an acrobatic display for us. All fish were caught on cut menhaden with 12-18" leader using 4 oz weights on sinker slides. Fall patterns are starting to emerge and the bull run should be soon upon us. Tight lines!

One of your spots… at the Jetties? Just poking fun. Great report and nice pics. Glad y’all had a great day!

Yes sir, been a pretty productive spot on the incoming. Ended up being a solid day for sure
