North Georgia Trout (Pics)

Went to a private stretch of river with my brother-in-law. It was my first time catching trout on the fly. We caught about 30 fish, with about 20 measuring between 15-20 inches and 10 measuring about 20-23 inches. Had a blast and looking forward to getting back on the river(when my wife approves).

Tell me more, I will be up in the mountains over Christmas and will have a few days to fish.

He took the bait like a jugbelly redfish on an olive and white clouser.

Rates are $275 per person for a full day.

I fished that area near Helen, GA. Those are some great trout streams. Nice looking fish BTW. My friend and I used to camp in that area and he would sneak up on them and catch bare handed, no joke.

I took my family to the mountains about a month ago and we stayed in a cabin on a river that looked exactly like that. We were there for 8 days and I forgot my fly rod at home.:angry::angry:

$275…is that with a guide or is that just access to the river?

Mud

Mud, it’s just access to the river. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth it.

Those are some pretty fish. The Soque is pretty legendary wish more of it were public, but then I guess it would not be that great. Looks like the river levels are still pretty low. Hopefully, they will be up a bit more when I go up in late February. Nice Fish! Great Colors.
