The Business of Changing Times,,,,,

,,,OK, like it or not, whichever side of the political fence you currently throw your schitt across, the simple fact is the Business of Doing Business is about to change. For better or worse remains to be seen I suppose.

The point of this thread is to document current prices for things (goods and services) that are important to your business, but more importantly current prices as they relate directly to you and your family.

Please, no attacking Trump or Biden. Lets just put the facts here and let them lie where they fall so as to look back later and see what we didn't see.

OK, Ill start.

Gas where I live and buy it is just under $2.00 a gallon.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance thru the State of North Carolina (my wife is a teacher) and I pay $540 a month for pretty good insurance.

A case of Bud heavy is $17 at Walmart and closer to $20 at Publix

I had my teeth cleaned last week (no insurance) cost me $117

Lean ground beef at Publix is $3.79 a pound

Shrimp/ Frozen 31/35's at $5.99 a pound

The Dow Jones hit 30,400 just the other day

My overall financial portfolio went up (just a thumbnail) a little over 25%

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Try and not fukkk it up

OK, whos next?

I figured you would have had a couple more replies.
I guess we're doing this in the order of priorities.
🍺🍺🍻 Corona $20 a12 pack
The wife and I $1,200 a month for insurance. And with deductible and copay usually adds up to about another $15,000 a year. And that's not counting things they deny.fortunately the VA bills my insurance companies. so that goes towards some of our deductible which is a big help
I'm guessing gas is going to be around 4 to 5 bucks a gallon this time next year . I know a guy that works oil rigs. He's been laid off indefinitely. Productive rig but they shut it down.$$$$
Lumber prices OSB 23 bucks a sheet. 2×4-8 $6 & jingle change
2×12-8pt $26.
Weed $200 a oz.
300 mg Wonka candy bars $30
Hahaha. Maybe that should have been up by the beer.

I forgot the big thing ammunition.
Winchester White box 9 mm 200 rounds $50/200 rounds 45 $85
440 rounds 556 federal $135
Gunpowder tight group 8 lb $160 h335 8 lb $195
Bullets/projectile 124 grain 9mm $80 a thousand
45acp 230 grain$115 a 1000.
556-55 grain $80 a thousand.
Primers $30 a thousand
When you can find any of that stuff.
Rocky mountain reloading sent me an email. stating all their bullets are probably going to go up 10% to 15% by the end of January. I ordered an assortment of 10,000 rounds in November. Probably get them mid February. They're holding the price for all orders that were put in before the first of the year..
One of my pot stocks more than doubled. Cashed out.
The other the bottom fell out.$3,000 investment fell to $200. It's back up over 3 grand again. I say sell the wife says let it ride.

You are correct, current interest along with savings rates need to be here for an apples to apples comparison. If Mr. Pod doesn't mind, I'll fill in those blanks as best I can.

the 10 year Treasure Yield was at 0.93%

You can refinance your primary home today at just under 3% on a 30 year fixed

Money Market accounts are currently paying .05% with a $50,000 minimum

24 month CD's yield .04% with a $50,000 minimum

Most of these numbers were ripped off Wells Fargo or Truist Websites just now.

"The point of this thread is to document current prices for things (goods and services) that are important to your business, but more importantly current prices as they relate directly to you and your family."

Pot roast went from $15 to $35 for 4 peeps.
I buy all my food from Sams...in bulk to distribute to my family. Bag of shredded divided to zip bags for 4 comes out cheaper for all. My choice to help out my children(adults) ...they gonna need it.

I worked through the interest rates of 21% with President Carter...forced me into another profession. Our children will be facing much worse...I fear.

My wife gave our 2 adult children a Dave Ramsey book. My daughter was hilarious quoting me all I'd taught her...buying used cars...used washing machine/dryer...

Interest rates HAVE to go up or what we are experiencing in inflated prices will only increase.

The Banks will love it. The Fed sunshine laws are were supposed to be halted the 31st of Dec...I've seen nothing as of yet(not really looking considering the atmosphere) but :

The next edit is next week.

The first two month's edits (or updates) show prices of goods and services increasing, ten year yields on a steady rise, precious metals way down, the stock market up, and lumber, ammo, and food prices are higher than that crack-head-Leon over on Spruill. Awwhh,,, fukk Leon, he's a big part of the problem, try and stay with me here.

Is there a bright spot economically anywhere yet? What about on the horizon?

I guess with all the new migrants coming into the country now labor should be getting cheap, huh? That's a good thing right?

Anyway, Ill update next week at 90 days in. Lets listen in......

Ammunition shortage and high prices for way over a year now.
Canning jars shortage and triple their price way over a year now.
You know there's a lot more that can be added to this list way over a year now.
Most likely never be the same. Everything has really been fuked up for four years now.
Going to take a long time to get back to normal.

Hey Bob wife just got 48 -court size with lids and rings off Amazon for 36 bucks shipped to the house..
As everyone knows There's always a run on guns and ammo right before an election. Especially if they think a Democrats getting into office. But never like this.
The gun stores are keeping guns on the shelves now. But still not much ammo.
My reasoning behind the ammo shortage is 4 million new gun owners in less than 2 or 3-months.
Bob if you need a few boxes of something let me know and I can bring you some. only thing I don't have and have not seen on the shelves is 380.
Ammo seems to come out in waves there's an abundance of 40 cal out there right now.

Gas in Greenville $2.51 a gallon

So the Moron in Chief shut down the pipeline, which absolutely sucks!

SO, what's up with fuel prices skyrocketing?? Keystone wasn't pumping yet, correct?? Perhaps to some new refineries along it's path...$2.80ish for Diesel in Augusta, Ga today.

In a nutshell, as covid restrictions relax, especially with the number of vaccinations and warmer weather just around the corner, more folks begin to travel and recreate. Demand is going up.

So anyway, as that demand quickly rises, pipeline or not, Opec has not increased production. Russia either, and don't even get me started on ChInah.

Its a supply and demand thing, brent crude was over $60 a barrel today, so I'd look for pricing around the $3.25 range at the pump by Memorial Day. Thats my best guess, lets see what happens.
